Australia has 10 out of 10 of the most poisonous snakes in the world. We were able to view some of them from afar (ie behind the glass) at the Reptile Farm in Canberra on our way home from the Sydney South Zone Conference last week. We also stopped at the War Memorial in Canberra. We stayed at the Gateway Motel for a cost of $150 and it was about on par with a Motel 8 at home.
Black Belly Red - a very venomous snake, meaning it will not kill you but you would be very sick. This was a pet, if you can believe it.
Rainforest Carpet Python - a real cutie.
Just your common Death Adder. You wouldn't want to meet him in a dark alley!
Australia's War Memorial. On the big avenue leading up to this building there are large monuments on either side of the road commemorating all the wars that Australia has fought in.
